Campus Climate and the First Amendment
In our final episode of the season, we are discussing our current campus climate following the election. Some of the topics discussed include free speech, liberal bias, campus safe spaces, and political correctness. We start off by getting a basic idea of what the First Amendment really is with an online video interview with Kevin O’Neill, a constitutional law professor at Cleveland-Marshall School of Law. In the studio, we sat down with SGA President Dan McCord, Professor of Public and International Affairs, and Faculty Senate President, Dr. Stephen Meinhold, Director of the Upperman African American Cultural Center, Sean Palmer, and UNCW alumni and local radio show host, Tyler Cralle. We extended an invitation through the Office of University Relations to have a representative join our panel, but the invitation was declined.
