This week's student spotlight features two of our journalism students, Christine Archibald and Becca Griffin.
Christine Archibald is a senior at UNCW majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Campaign Management. She has previously served as the campaign manager for the Election and Campaign communication studies applied learning project. Last semester, she worked on a directed individual study planning the launch of the American Democracy Project at UNCW under Dr. Jennifer Brubaker. Christine has dedicated the past seven years to working for local, state, and national political campaigns as an assistant media relations coordinator. She is a member of the American Association of Political consultants, a certified treasurer in campaign finance by the North Carolina State Board of Elections, and is trained in crisis management for political affairs. After graduation she plans to move back to Washington D.C to work towards her Masters degree in political management at George Washington University.
Becca Griffin is a senior Communication Studies major and Campaign Management minor from Durham, NC. She has grown up around politics, and plans on going into campaign politics after she graduates. She has been responsible for helping come up with topics, slotting potential guests, and planning segments of the episodes. Her political background provides a unique perspective, and has been especially helpful when coming up with potential guests.
Thank you Christine and Becca for all of your hard work! Check back in with us on Wednesday for a preview of this week's episode.
